Clipper Room
InterContinental Regency
Tel:1722 4343
|
Seated at the bar you can imagine yourself in some corner bar in New York; it is intimate, comfortable and the bar-keep will make small talk if you wish. There is also a cavernous room behind you, with tables facing the stage where the house band performs: the feel goes a bit Las Vegas Cabaret. Not a bad thing but unusual to have two such distinctive atmospheres under one roof.

Diggers
Delmon Hotel Tel:1722 4000
|
Live entertainment from band “Advent Call” every Monday-Saturday night from 9pm plus extensive pub grub menu.
|
The Exchange
Ramada Hotel
Tel:1771 7002
|
Sat at the bar exchange, you are in a large square room with a stage at one end upon which the band is belting out all your favourite tunes. The thing about the Exchange is that the house band is actually very good and with the relaxed vibe, it makes for a convivial venue for pre and post diner drinks. With its proximity to the restaurant district of Adliya, this is not a bad place at all.

Fire
Delmon Hotel Tel:1722 4000
|
Live entertainment from Belarusian band every night from 9pm.
|
The Harvester
Crown Plaza Hotel
Tel:1753 1122
|
It is all about the music here. The Harvester boasts one of the best live bands on the island who would probably do well in Europe or the States. They do great renditions of other people’s popular songs. Love to hear them do their own. You can also get a camel burger here ands its good.

JJ’s Irish Restaurant
Al Bustan Hotel
Tel:1774 2323
|
JJ’s is not the place to go for a quiet drink. A home away from home for expats. There are regular quizzes and party nights.
|
Sherlock Holmes
Gulf Hotel Hotel
Tel:1771 3000
|
From the name it comes as no surprise that the effect being striven for here is that of the quintessential London pub. The pub has recently been completely been refurbished and in doing so has gained in comfort and finesse. There are still huge arm chairs and British styled bar, but there is more light too, meaning that you can actually see who you are talking too. A nice place for a drink at any time of day or night.
|
Sky Bar
Diplomat Radisson
Tel:1753 3000
|
The Sky Bar without a question has the best views in town. The atmosphere is Bluesy and easy going and from way up here, the world looks so far away and so small that how could anything bother you? So kick back, get comfortable and call for one more for the road.

Wrangler’s
Best Western Hotel
Tel:1729 0600
|
During the day and early evening Wrangler’s dark and empty bar has a charm all its own and it is easy to imagine that you are in small town USA. The food is good and during the day the service is swift. It is at night however that Wranglers comes alive. On weekend nights, the dance floor that looked of adequate size earlier, looks tiny in comparison to the number of people bumping and grinding to R’n B and hip hop.
